Solar Panel Kit: What a LONGi System Kit Contains

A solar panel kit on this site is a sized system: a counted row of LONGi panels with a price, plus the inverter and battery capacity to buy against.
A solar panel kit is usually sold as a box: so many panels, an inverter, a reel of cable. On this site a kit is something more precise — a system sized for a kind of building, with the arithmetic shown. Each of our ready-made systems lists what the roof needs line by line, and this article explains what those lines are, where their numbers come from and what a LONGi kit does and does not put in your basket.
The three lines of a kit
Every kit page has the same structure.
- Panels. A named LONGi model, the number of modules, the roof area they fill and the price. This line is real stock: the Hi-MO X10 Guardian LR7-60HVHL 550W, which the sizing engine picks because it prefers the panel closest to 550 W among those of at least 400 W.
- Inverter. One line, written as a size rather than a product: "Inverter rating to match: 9 kW (a size, not a LONGi unit)" on the house kit. It is the power the inverter must have for the building's peak load.
- Battery. Present on the backup and off-grid kits, absent on the grid-tied ones. Also a size: a storage rating in kWh, counted in modules of 5.12 kWh.
Our catalogue is LONGi solar panels, and the pages say so plainly. The panel line carries a price and an Order button; the inverter and battery lines tell you the kW and the kWh to buy against, so the three parts match when you source the other two.
The six kits, in figures
Each kit starts from a list of appliances. The apartment carries one air conditioner, a fridge, lights and Wi-Fi, a TV and a washing machine. The house adds a second air conditioner and a kitchen appliance. The villa runs four air conditioners, a fridge, a freezer, two sets of lights, two TVs, a washing machine, a water pump and a kitchen appliance. The shop has two air conditioners, a fridge, two sets of lights and a computer; the office three air conditioners, two sets of lights, four computers and a kitchen appliance; the farm two water pumps, a fridge, a freezer and lights.
| Building | Energy per day | 550 W panels | Array installed | Inverter line | Battery modules: evening / full night / off-grid | Roof |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apartment | 13.8 kWh | 6 | 3.3 kWp | 5 kW | 1 / 1 / 3 | 16 m² |
| House | 25.4 kWh | 11 | 6.05 kWp | 9 kW | 1 / 2 / 5 | 29 m² |
| Villa | 49.53 kWh | 20 (22 off-grid) | 11 kWp | 12 kW | 2 / 4 / 10 | 52 m² |
| Shop | 25.2 kWh | 11 | 6.05 kWp | 6 kW | 1 / 2 / 5 | 29 m² |
| Office | 40.4 kWh | 17 (18 off-grid) | 9.35 kWp | 10 kW | 2 / 3 / 8 | 44 m² |
| Farm | 6.65 kWh | 3 | 1.65 kWp | 4 kW | 1 / 1 / 2 | 8 m² |
Each building comes in three battery modes — four hours of evening backup, a full night of backup and fully off-grid — and the house and the villa also come grid-tied with no battery at all: the grid-tied house system and the grid-tied villa system.
Where the numbers come from: the house kit
Take the house kit with evening backup. Its appliances add up to 25.4 kWh a day.
- Array. 25.4 kWh ÷ (5.7 peak sun hours × 0.8 performance ratio) = 5.57 kWp.
- Panels. 5,570 W ÷ 550 W = 10.1, rounded up to 11 panels: 6.05 kWp on about 29 m² of roof.
- Price of the panel line. 11 × AED 341 = AED 3,751. The price on the product page is the price you pay.
- Battery. Evening backup reserves four hours of the day's energy: 25.4 × 4 ÷ 24 = 4.23 kWh, which one 5.12 kWh module covers. The full-night version reserves eight hours, 8.47 kWh, so two modules. The off-grid version stores the whole day, 25.4 kWh, in five modules.
The 5.7 sun hours are the figure for the UAE, where our stores are, and the kit pages are sized on it. The panel itself is documented on the LR7-60HVHL 535–560 W datasheet: 550 W, 24.4% module efficiency, 1,990 × 1,134 × 30 mm and 16.3 kg ±1%.
A kit by its kilowatts
People often ask for a kit by its size. Read the table that way:
- A 3 kW kit is the apartment: six 550 W panels, 3.3 kWp.
- A 6 kW kit is the house or the shop: eleven panels, 6.05 kWp.
- A 9 kW kit is the office: seventeen panels, 9.35 kWp.
- An 11 kW kit is the villa: twenty panels.
In France the same house needs more panels for the same energy, because the engine's figure there is 3.7 sun hours: 25.4 ÷ (3.7 × 0.8) = 8.58 kWp, or sixteen 550 W panels instead of eleven. Panel prices for France are on the LONGi price page for France.
Changing the panel in a kit
The kit names one model, but the array is what matters. The house's 5.57 kWp can be built from eleven EcoLife LR7-54HJD 510W panels — a shorter module, 1,800 mm instead of 1,990 mm — or from nine Hi-MO X10 Scientist LR7-72HVH 650W panels. Fewer, larger modules mean fewer rails and clamps; smaller ones fit a roof broken up by skylights and chimneys.
When no kit fits
The six buildings are starting points. If your home has three air conditioners, a pool pump or a different backup need, open the sizing calculator: you pick your own appliances and the mode, and it returns the same three lines for your case. Panels ordered on the site are collected from our store in Dubai or Riyadh.
